I would call it a hidden gem, but they have 500 reviews so they're obviously not too hidden. But they are absolutely a GEM!!
All the times we've come here, it's never been too crowded. That's a huge plus, because sometimes you just want a quick bowl of pho in a hurry.
The menu is quite extensive with Vietnamese dishes you wouldn't necessarily find at other places. I would say the menu is probably a bit more ethnic, if that makes sense, than some run-of-the-mill, strip mall pho restaurants. The food has always been great. They have this deconstructed banh mi (it's not called that) which is awesome. Oh, and the combination pho comes with a lot of meat. Some places skimp on the amount of meat in their combination pho because you're getting so much variety - so like 2 pieces of brisket, 1 meatball, etc. Not here - they load you up on all the meats. [see pic]
They also have meat pies (pate chaud) that are super tasty and easy on the wallet. [see pic] They have steamed pork buns, various sweet rice wrapped in banana leaves, and a handful of tapioca/jelly cups in their dessert fridge at the counter. Bonus - they make most of their own sauces. Super BONUS - they also bottle and sell some of their homemade sauces... chili oil, hoisin, fish sauce, and peanut sauce.
And maybe the best part, the lady working (owner, presumably) is such a sweetheart. My husband ordered a couple of meat pies to go, and she felt that they were made on the smaller side that day, so she threw in a few extras to make up for it. Talk about someone who takes pride in their product.
We still make the trek across the river to all of the Vietnamese eateries along 82nd and in that surrounding area... but this is by far our favorite Vietnamese spot in all of SW, and certainly rivals the best out on that side as well. -

I'm really surprised Tan Tan has such good reviews. Sadly, our experience wasn't very good. Came in after the lunch rush on a Saturday (so - a hectic time) and the place was chaos. Dirty floor, crowded, generally not relaxing or inviting. Seated in the corner near a cooler. Technically speaking, our food was decent, however several things were just unacceptable to me: 1) the server didn't inform me that mushrooms were in the veggie pho when I asked which veggies were included (I can't eat them) 2) the lettuce in our salad rolls was brown and the pork was really dry, 3) the cabbage in my pho was wilty and brown, and 4) the tofu didn't seem fresh - it was weirdly brown and probably several days old. Mushrooms also came in it. I've never dealt with food quality issues at a Vietnamese restaurant before, so was really surprised. Service was friendly, but I left feeling like it was a waste of money and time given the many pho spots across the city.
I'd rank Pho Nguyen or Pho Van over Tan Tan anytime, despite having issues with those spots too (never food quality - just service complaints). Just discovered Lela's Bistro in NW, which is a GEM. Top of my list (for the time being). -

Definitely my go-to place for Vietnamese food in Beaverton. While not all their dishes are brilliant, I think they do have some food that I'd consider "must try".
Firstly, their pho. Bit thicker broth than I'm used to from most places, which I really like; it's definitely the star of the dish. Noodles are sometimes a bit overcooked (soft), but maybe that's because I eat slowly and they end up staying in the broth too long. Meats are hit or miss, some cuts can be really tough and chewy, others soft. Comes with all the typical fixings.
Vermicelli bowls. Solid nuoc Cham (the "dressing"), meat is solid. I especially like their pieces of grilled beef. Solid smattering of vegetables in the noodles to add texture.
Vietnamese crepe. A must try. I order this every time and add the spring roll wraps to it. It's essentially a really crispy omelette with meat and bean sprouts along with some raw vegetables on the side. My favourite dish. -

It was definitely different. I enjoyed the noodles with chicken. The food was tasty and the service was impeccable. The food is cooked fresh and everything was well seasoned.

A small no fuss kind of place. We have been coming here for a few years now and the food has always been good .The service is fast here so you can expect to get seated, have your order taken and then be served all in quite a short span of time . I believe they used to have a great pho but not anymore or maybe it was just an off day. The paper rolls are pretty good and the Banh-mi is also a great option if you are looking to try something other than a soup. They Perhaps could do with a little change in décor and furniture however that doesn't stop or deter most of the crowd that comes here for the good food.
